Koenigsegg, the Swedish supercar maker founded by Christian von Koenigsegg, may be considered an underground brand right now, but with they way that they are currently progressing, that may all change. About five years ago, they made big waves with the Agera R, which was a stunning and futuristic vehicle. However, they’ve outdone themselves with their recent masterwork, the Koenigsegg One:1. If you think that name sounds strange, you’re not wrong. However, there is a reason behind it, as it is supposed to reference the nearly perfect balance that the car strikes between power and balance with it’s weight ratios. Performance

As far as performance goes, this car Off the bat, the Koenigsegg One:1 sports a specialized V-8 engine that contains an incredibly high 1341 horsepower, all of which is coated in a ceramic composite and made of high-quality carbon fiber. The transaxle is an automated-manual with a hydraulic clutch specially attached to help with shifting gears up, which amounts to only .06 seconds to shift. All of these components are also incredibly light. This amounts to a car that can go from 0 to 250 mph in only 20 seconds, and can hit a top speed of 273 mph.

All of that engine performance wouldn’t mean a whole lot if the vehicle couldn’t go anywhere, though. Good thing the One:1 is outfitted with carbon fiber wheels that are far lighter than normal alloy wheels, yet even stronger. On top of that, the handling that you are able to maintain while driving at such immense speeds is impressive, with state-of-the-art aerodynamics that are able to achieve a peak downforce of 1830 pounds. Flaps underneath the vehicle also adapt and adjust to your current driving conditions, in order to achieve the most efficient shape.

In the cabin

The interior components of the Koenigsegg One:1 are equally geared towards top performance. Top-of-the-line active systems in the car include controls to adjust the turning capacity of the One:1, as well as suspension controls, stability controls, and aerodynamic controls. They also don’t skip out on an internal GPS and 3G internet around the globe. Aside from the active systems, it is also insanely pleasurable to drive around in the One:1. Typically, there would be a massive amount of noise on the interior of a vehicle that travels at the speeds that this vehicle is able to achieve. However, it has the benefit of having the same noise reduction technology as the Koenigsegg Agera R, which makes sitting in a driver’s seat a leisurely breeze!
